Structural Weld

Structural welding is the process of joining component metals together to create and erect framework components for buildings or bridges. It can also be used to repair columns, beams, and girders. Mobile welding services in Clearwater are equipped to perorm structural welding in the field, but structural welding can also be performed in shops. Both field and shop structural welds require accurate blueprints, balanced measurements, and precision welds.
There are two types of welding processes preferred by field welders: stick welding and flux-core arc welding (FCAW). For smaller jobs, most welders prefer to use stick welding thanks to its low equipment requirements. However, stick welding is a slow process that is not ideal for larger structural welds in the field.
FCAW welding can increase productivity and allow the welders to finish their jobs much more efficiently. This semi-automatic welding process is similar to MIG welding. Unlike stick welding, which generates a cloud of gas that prevents oxidation, FCAW welding uses the flux to shield the weld pool.
Most mobile welders in Clearwater use a combination of stick and FCAW welding since both are ideal for outdoor applications. In shops, welders usually prefer a combination of FCAW and stud welding. Stud welding is especially well-suited for fabricating steel building components and structures.
